How to Write a Powerful Intention

Writing a powerful intention isn’t about perfect words — it’s about tapping into the energy you want to live from. In the Art of Intention Circle, we slow down, listen to the heart, and create intentions that feel alive, grounded, and deeply true.

The Truth

Have you ever tried to set an intention and felt like it didn’t “stick”? Or maybe you wrote something down, but it felt vague or disconnected?

Here’s the truth: writing an intention is less about getting the words right, and more about getting the energy or the feeling right.

What I have come to know through the Art of Intention Circle  the most effective intentions come from deep within, not from the surface of our thoughts. The magic begins when we slow down and ask our hearts to speak.

Let’s walk through a simple, soul-aligned process to help you write an intention that’s clear, heartfelt, and energetically alive.

Step One: Inquire Within

Before you write anything, pause and reflect. Get out of your head and into your heart. Ask yourself:

  1. What’s one thing I truly want to feel more of in my life right now?
    (Peace, clarity, connection, vitality, creativity…)

  2. What is one thing I would love to feel more grateful for or choose to see through a lens of gratitude today?

  3. Is there an opinion or belief I could gently release —one that might be closing me off from a new possibility?

Let these questions stir something deeper than thought. Let them awaken feeling. Let your answers be raw, real, even surprising. That’s where the true intention lives.

Step Two: Start Writing

  1. Be Specific

  2. Focus all of your attention on one intention at a time. The more focused your intention, the more powerful your energy becomes. Instead of, “I want to feel better,” try:

  3. Use Word of Affirmation
Intentions reflect what we are creating in our lives not what we are getting rid of!  Intend in a positive light.

  4. Feel Into Your Intention
As you write, engage your senses. Let your body feel the energy of your intention. What does it look like? Sound like? Smell or taste like? Make it real in your inner world — this is how you magnetize it into form.

Example Intentions

  • “I intend to show up today with an open heart and grounded energy, trusting the flow of every conversation. I step into my confidence and my 12:00 meeting today is even more fruitful than anticipated. I love the feeling of accomplishment and recognition.”

  • “I intend to rest in gratitude of simple things today like my garden and my books and my beautiful friendships. Today I intend to move this energy forward by reaching out and appreciating my friend Judy by stopping by for a visit.”

  • “I intend to release control around my relationship with my partner. Anytime I notice I’m feeling the need to control today I stop, take a deep breath and remember that peace is the access point to clarity and creation. I love knowing that my true power in within me and my control.”
